"I really do believe I can accomplish a great deal with a big grin, I know some people find that disconcerting, but that doesn't matter."

-Beverly Sills (1929 - )

Thought of the day: Okay, for real. I'm the worst right now. Not only am I not blogging I'm also not making an effort to take pictures. For example last night, we hosted a Superbowl party and took maybe 3 photos. None of food, none of the friends celebrating, none of the ladies, but.....I do have like 15 minutes of a really really drunk friend losing his mind. Bwahahahahaha!

Once things are really settled here at the pad and we're just focused on whatever and not on getting together the necessities I'll be back on it. I kinda promise.

Food for thought:
Fudgey brownies layered with sweetened coconut and chocolate frosting.

Jojobean and Jenny came through one night and made some of the best chili I've ever eaten! Thanks!
And Chris was using his Juiceman for the first time. Who knew veggies could actually be kinda tasty.
Look at the masterpieces my students made! Piet Mondrian would be proud.

"Outings are so much more fun when we can savor them through the children's eyes."

-Lawana Blackwell

Did you know: Dog mushing is the official state sport. The Alaska Legislature adopted it in 1972.

Thought of the day: I was talking to my coworker Alison about this and we agreed that we may not have gone where we intended to go but we ended up where we think we need to be.

Out of high school 10 years ago I would have never pegged myself as an elementary school teacher but I'm so happy and fulfilled where I am that I can't imagine myself where else I'd be. Sometimes I think I'm made for gigantic things but what can be bigger than making an impact on someone's life. What's bigger than being that positive influence that they think of 1 to 50 years from now. Life's good for me and I'm hoping I'm making it better for everyone else around too.

Food for thought:

Kumamoto oysters ww/ champagne mignonette, osetra caviar, & citrus zest. Ever since Crab Hut w/ Jenny. I want more oysters!

-George Santayana (1863 - 1952)

Did you know: Artichokes are one of the oldest foods known to man. Zeus was said to have turned a scorned lover into an artichoke.

Thought of the day: If you're alive have you lived? If you've done it, did you do it well? If you've got it did you give? If you can, did you go for it? I'm starting to measure my life up to this standard.

Food for thought:

This year I will not miss the deep fried turkey at the Chargers tailgate!

-Alvinism of the Wildboyz

Ah it's been a while since I've eaten at Tajima and took a photo in front of Adult Emporium. I seriously have 50+ photos here. Imagine how many times I've just eaten at Tajima

The best ceviche in San Diego...and everywhere else I've eaten!

It's close to summer, clean and cold seafood is the best way to snack.

Oh shnaps, the fish or shrimp tacos are totally tops.

Gustavo was my captain in high school for football. I followed his tough work ethic and became one too despite being the smallest player on team. He's still doing good things for God and his community, and yes. I'm still following his footsteps. Good to see you man.

-Lyman Beecher (1775 - 1863)

Did you know: Juneau, Alaska is the only capital city in the United States accessible only by boat or plane.

Sammy is a cyclops.

The best thing at L&Ls is their "volcano" sauce. Try it w/ the katsu.

So the fisheye on my PNS is just and effect and doesn't really give you an ultra wide angle shot. But it still gives funny shots.

Kaminski's in Poway may just the place for a few of us to watch Sunday football games. Best TV set up I've seen.

-Vincent van Gogh (1853 - 1890)

Did you know: Alaska's name is based on the Eskimo word Alakshak meaning great lands or peninsula.

Thought of the day: I've been sick for the past 2 days have have absolutely no life other than my bedroom. My pillowcase is constantly being rotated thanks to my waking up sweating and my trashcan fills up faster w/ tissues that my toilet one does. Oh weekend please hurry.

Food for thought:

Beef Round Steak Sandwich with Cuban-Inspired Dipping Sauce And Blue Cheese. Oh good Lord this looks perfect.

-Alvinism of the Wildboyz
