Alvinisms 1127

"It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything."

-Chuck Palahniuk (1962 - )

Did you know: Hawaii is moving toward Japan 4 inches every year.

Thought of the day: Looking back at these pictures I am so stoked on how this vacation went. Not only was it cheaper than usual but I got to stay in the most amazing place w/ free food and drinks. But it didn't stop there. My quest to see as many of monuments of the world as I can is fulfilled for the time being as well. When I think Cancun, I think partying and drinking but to throw in one of the New Wonders of the World, its the icing on the cake.

I'm sure I'm missing a few great photos here but 3 people shooting and shooting and shooting away. Too many to go through.

Food for thought:

Grilled grass-fed beef burger w/ St. Andre cheese, fig-rosemary balsamic jam & arugula.

Quick bite to eat before Chichen Itza.

I spy Ang ready to go back to sleep.

Big welcome to the Grand Sirenis. The other resorts looked bananas as well. I wonder what they're all like.

Here's me trying to scare passengers getting on the bus. Fail.

Big tree means big leaves!

Told you it was a big tree!

Courtyard.

Ancient Mayan observation tower.

Unsuspecting victim.

Welcome Bryan to the most humid place on Earth!

Welcome Ang to the most humid place on Earth!

It must be nice to be on top of there.....sacrificing humans! Geez!

They stopped letting people climb on Chichen Itza's monuments when it was in the runnings to become one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

We are here!!!

I can't stop sweating!

Get out of the picture people!

Squishies.

Ya'll wanna see a dead body?
That's a hell of a lot of carving to do.

You had to hit a ball through that hoop...w/ your hip!!! WTF!?! On top of that, the winning teams captain got to be beheaded. Who's down!?!

Cant.....stop.....sweating...

That's a big snake you got there.

A carving illustrating the beheading.

Happy people.

A little perspective on how hard it must have been to hit the ball up there.

I am here.

Lunch time! Cenotes after!

Cooking up fresh tortillas.

Hello Mr. Peacock.

I love this picture.

They even let me wear the headdress. Sugoi.
