Alvinisms 1229

"I never feel age...If you have creative work, you don't have age or time."

-Louise Nevelson (1900 - 1988)

Did you know: The name "Apache" means "enemy" in the language of their Zuni neighbors.

Thought of the day: This week may get a lil crazier for me so come weekend I'll either be burnt out for a bit or blacked out. We shall see.

Food for thought:

Succulent shrimp and creamy parmesan grits w/ a spicy chipotle drizzle.

-Alvinism of the Wildboyz

Morning traffic in LA.

But the view is worth it. Finally got to hike up the Runyon Canyon trail. Not too shabs.

WBZ 4 life. Alvinisms and TK.

Strange sign. Is it hostile or friendly?

I see you everywhere.

Dude made me feel like I was in another time.

Toes wanted to show me one of "the best salads and wraps" ever.

Apparently its what the specialize in and guess what...

THEY WERE RIGHT! The wrap seemed smaller than the salad but it was packed tight and every bite was very savory.

And this picture don't do it justice for it's size and taste.

After a nap it time to strap on my Alaska socks for a food truck gathering!

For a better recap check out Jomo's blog.

Chicken Pastel: Crisp pastry with shredded chicken and melted mozzarella cheese filling. the pastry was definitely a different spin on something that would have ended up being horribly mundane.

There were about 6 trucks out that night and sadly the Nom Nom truck was out of commish and didn't make it out.

Here we are at the Kabob N Roll.

We had a lamb gyro. Nothing special moving on.

HERE WE GO! One of my top food jems of the trip. Hummus and feta fries. By God I'm automatically hungry again.

Heard of the Cool Haus truck? Here it is.

And here is the monster ice cream sandwich we got.

Brown butter & candied bacon ice cream on a chocolate chip cookie.

Brown butter & candied bacon ice cream on a chocolate chip cookie. Mmm...bacon.

So much to choose from. I really did enjoy this place, not as overrated as some may say.

One more stop on the way home. El Flamin Taco boasts the best chicken in any Mexican food dish says Toe-Knee.

So we went w/ chicken tacos. Give it a solid A-, I guess something was just lacking to give it a fist pump, maybe a uber dank hot sauce or something different. But yes TK, the chicken is delish.

Night's not over. Quick stop at the Short Stop.

Food and beer out did my exercise but whatevs. Vacation son!

Thank you Angela and Mark for hosting us.

Why not just let go on a random night filled w/ hipsters and vatos locos?
