Alvinisms 1178

"Creativity is a drug I cannot live without."

-Cecil B. DeMille (1881 - 1959)

Did you know: The duckbill platypus is known to store upto six hundred worms in its cheek pouches.

Thought of the day: Christmas is relatively new right? It's only 2010 years old. But what were people celebrating in other parts of the country 2011 years ago? There was no Thanksgiving, 4th of July, or Christmas. In fact, those are indigenous to the USA (which didn't exist 2011 years ago). I wonder if they celebrated birthdays and how the did in different parts of the world.

2010 years seemed to have flown by but in the history of millions of years, the creation and destruction of mountains, moving continent sized landmasses, whole extinctions of species, what were we human beings looking forward too? Were there days that kids would get riled up about?

Fast forward 2000 more years. Will we still celebrate Christmas? Will there be new laws against celebrating religions? Will there be new things to be joyous about? Will science prove something new? What about 200,000 years from now?

Food for thought:

Kimtan the birthday boy w/ Cathy and Jenny at DnBs.

Viets 4 life.

Look what Lai brought me from Brazil! Best souvenir gift ever! (FYI, I collect chessboards from around the world that show their culture.)

What I believe were the Portuguese.

And the native people of Rio, Brazil.

No we don't have a baby. That's Willy and Shalihe's newborn, Phelisha. So small and cute! Lai and I call each other birth buddies because not only are we best friends but our birthdays are only 4 days apart. Love you Best!
