"A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections."

-Chinese Proverb

Did you know: The cheetah is the only feline w/ non retractable claws.

Thought of the day: I had money left over from the Peru trip so what did I do? No I didn't drink a lot or eat everything in sight (actually I did eat almost everything I wanted when I got back). I booked my next trip, hotel and car. Where you ask? When you ask? You can figure it out below.

I always wanted to go to Mt. Rushmore.

And the 4th of July seems like the perfect time to go. Holla if you're down!

Food for thought: See below.

-Alvinism of the Wildboyz

Imagine waking up to this every morning.

But we weren't the only ones up for an early hike.

Yes I bought a gigantic poncho to repel water.

Lllamas are everywhere in the morning.

And tourists come in by the busload.

The ultimate calf and butt workout.

But trust me. It's worth it.

This is the easiest part of the trek.

Follow us.

You can't really tell but I had over 100 bites.

Apparently if you boil the petals of the flowers you can get really topsy turvy.

It's awesome w/ the mystique of the mist.

Totally sick.

The beginning of hours of climbing.

Alvinism, Richie, and Ayako.......and llamas.

When Llamas Attack from Alvin Benavidez on Vimeo.

When llamas attack.

A helping hand.

One w/ the llamas. (BTW, I ate your brother yesterday)

They're like the deer in Nara.

You know where I am.

Things to find in the Great Cave.

How do you build this like hundreds of years ago.

The Long Hike from Alvin Benavidez on Vimeo.

The long hike for sacrificial virgins.

I am here. Staring into endless mountains covered in trees w/ no distraction in the world.

One day I'll get used to serious pictures.

Not the normal view of Machu Picchu.

But down below it's pretty awesome.

Next stop?....who knows.

Keep walking.

Hahaha. You're smiling now.

Richard having his emo moment.

In the clouds.

Whatchu lookin at Willis?

Have you ever walked through a jungle? I have.

Sharing a moment.

So tired, and it was just the downhill and first quarter part of it.

Near the top.

We finally made it. Stupid backpack.

The last stretch just gets harder. It was so steep you needed to use your hands too.

Willys Workshop Worldwide.

I am here. And Machu Picchu is waaaaay down there.

Yes the bus ride was a little scary.

You see the ruins way up there? Yeah, we were there.

Richard was heavily cramping. Luckily I know Spanish was able to find help from friendly strangers.

Back to safe grounds.

My postcard picture.

Llamas don't care if they walk in the picture.

I wonder how fast I could climb that non-stop.

Next to Egypt, this is one of the most awe inspiring places I've been.

When we split I took a minute to read, enjoy, and soak it in.

Going solo lets you're mind go.

And you're camera. #1

Met up w/ some folks at Aoki Japanese food for dinner.

Real beef. No more llama.

Chicken yakitori.

Shigei, Tammy, Rich, myself, and Ayako. Shigei traveled the world for 4 years and has lived in Cusco for 15. Guy's got some real experience.

Freshest, tastiest, baked tortilla chips and the best cheese and guacamole combination ever. HANDS DOWN.

When in Aguas Calientes, find Carlos and eat here.

Aguas Calientes was small but may have been my favorite city in Peru. If they only had $7 massages too.
