Alvinisms 477

"A barking dog is often more useful than a sleeping lion. "

-Washington Irving

Did you know: A hedgehog's heart beats 300 times a minute on average.

Thought of the day: Friday started off w/ a bang. Literally. I just finished my jog when I heard a loud "BANG!" At first I though it was someone's garage that crashed down but then I saw a huge flash of light and then I saw all the lights on the street go out. It was an eerie feeling I tell you.

So I run up to a big concrete fence and hop up to see what happened. Lo and behold I see a car has run into one of those green electric transformer boxes. I yell out, "Hey, are you guys okay!?!" Usually you get the answer that they are fine but this time the 3 guys w/ their hands on their head said, "NO, WE NEED HELP!"

In my head, I was like, "Oh shit, this is really bad." So I hop down and run to the accident. First one on the scene. The 3 kids are just walking around the car, while it is still smoking and just trippin out saying, "Oh my God", "What the fuck", shit like that and I see that inside there is the driver still there not moving. I take a quick peek and see him barely moving so I yell at one of the kids to call 911.

First thing I remembered is to take the keys out of the ignition so I told another kid to take out the keys, but he couldn't so I had to tell him to press the brakes and/or jiggle the steering wheel. Eventually he got it out.

I took a look at the driver. He had blood on his face and on his clothes. He couldn't really speak, just gurgled and made noises. He couldn't keep his eyes focused on me, they kept rolling back. But he was alive and awake. Then I heard one of the guys say, "lets get him out of the car" and I told them not to. Somewhere on TV or maybe MacGyver I learned not to move a person unless you have to.

So, the ambulance was coming, the keys were out, the smoke was still spewing and I had the picture of the kids engraved in my brain now. Instead of sticking around to see what happened I had to leave because we were meeting at Ollies at 8. But I made sure there was an adult before I left and there also came my neighbor who was a nurse. That's pretty much the jist of it. The weirdest things happen to me I tell you.

Count your blessings my friends. Peace. Love. Faith.

It was a blackout for the whole neighborhood. So here is my setup w/ no energy. It was hard to find the clothes I wanted to wear w/ just a candle man! Plus little water pressure equaled trouble especially after a jog.

So I left a little early and headed to Ollie's house to get ready. It felt so weird w/ no street lights or anything while driving. It felt like a ghost town. If you thought it'd be fun to live in a situation w/ no lights like in "30 Days of Night", its actually really scary.

After Onyx I was sober enough to drive home and safely climb the fences so I can snap this shot of them still fixing the box and area. Thank God for electricity. Count your blessings, seriously. Good and fun pictures of the night to come next Alvinism. And believe me they are worth a look! You are all drunk asses!
